Help with headlights please!!!

just bought a 2005 Mini S, today. noticed that neither of the headlights worked. tried the high beams and they worked just fine. thought it was going to be the bulbs. just now i turned on the light switch and heard a strange clicking noise coming from the headlights. what does that mean? and how can i tell if i have xenon lights since i cant turn them on. thank you in advance for any help.

Since you just bought it I would take it back to the dealer and get them to take care of that problem. As for the Xenons you would know if you had them. They are much brighter than regular halogen bulbs.

i just cant turn on the headlights. the high beams work, but the low beams dont. so i cant see if they're bright. could it just need new bulbs? and another question, the inside crome bulb housing with the cat eye (i believe thats what its called) is loose and you can move it around.

with a 2005, you will know if you have Xenon headlights if you have the projector-style headlight. They look like this:

As for them not turning on, take it back to the dealership that sold it to you. Legally, I don't believe that they are allowed to sell it to you that way, as it is unable to pass state inspection (I'm assuming you are in the US, but I don't see a location listed), let alone if they inspected it themselves and said that it passed.
