Taking delivery at a different dealer

Taking delivery at a different dealer
Hello everyone,
I recently ordered a CMS through a dealership over an hour away from me, which isn't so bad, but it's a manual and I don't have much experience driving one and will most likely kill the car or myself before making it home.
I was wondering if any one has ever had the experience of having their (custom order) mini delivered to a different dealer than the one they ordered from to take delivery.
How does it work?? Is there any benefit to picking it up at the dealer you ordered it through??
Any explanation or story on how that process would work would be great!

You could go and practice with someone's manual, to get up to snuff...
Do you mean that you want to complete the sale at the dealership that you bought it from, and then have it delivered to a different dealer to pick up? Because your order is not an actual sale... and that car belongs to that dealership... as does the sale of it.
The sale is finalized when you sign the final paperwork.
Have a friend or co worker who drives stick, come and help you bring it home?

Kind of. I meant to have it delivered directly (from port hueneme) to a location closer to me where I can pick it up. The paper work would also brought over to be signed when i take delivery, the sale of course is still the original dealerships.
I've heard of home deliveries: edmunds.com
But wasn't sure if this would be possible or over reaching...
