My new ( ok, used ) Clubman...

I was the previous owner of a 2008 Mini. Then I got a 2011 Countryman. I never got used to the HUGE size. Seemed like a mini on steroids. Long story short, I was in a bad accident with it, the airbags all deployed, no one was hurt, but the car was totaled.
Then, because I needed a car quick.... and wanted back seat passenger doors... I got a Cube.
I felt like I was driving an "Amish rocket" ( it was black ). The wind on the highway made it feel like I was driving a sailboat.
Hubby wanted to stop at the dealer to get mats for his 2009 mini.... and there I fell in lve with my new clubman. Love the color ( horizon blue, silver roof, silver stripes ) and it feels great to be back in a mini again. And our son ( 11) is able to exit for the school drop off each day, if I reach across and pop the passenger door. Love my clubman.

I have a 2010 clubbie, and I love it. Just the right size for me and my family.

What are the R numbers?

I have a 2010 clubman ( not an S). What's the R # ?

Hubby has a 2009 Mini ( also not an S) a hard top, 2 door. What's the R #?

This is confusing.......

A Clubman is an R55. All hardtops from 2007 on (whether S or non-S) are R56.

You will notice my Clubman, and W.Reber's clubman have the same plates. There is a reason for that...... its all me. I could not un register because my first registration had my work e- mail... but I retired. I was successful at changing the e- mail, but not password. So, being locked out, and very excited about my new Clubman, I began the smallpiper account. I want to cancel the other.... but can't. Webmaster does not respond to requests...... :-(

I see I'm not the only one that feels the same about the CM . My loaner for a week has kept me from ever owning one. Unless the drop about a 250hp engine in it.

things i disliked about my countryman...

1. Stupid rail... stuff, like pens etc kept getting caught in it.
2. Too big.
3. Poor visibility out back window... body/ back hatch obscured view.. to high to see over.
4. Too much like driving a CAR, and not a MINI.... if you follow... just didn't handle the same.
5. Did I mention the size........

Ah, yes... This has now turned into a little elitist Countryman bashing thread. Get over yourself, folks. Like it or not, the Countryman IS a REAL MINI. If it makes your ***** feel bigger to you to bash them, then go right ahead.

Any feelings.

I don't know about you but how come the pass
Side mirror was to low to use all of it, bottom
Third was blocked .

But like I said if they put more ponies in it
I'd consider one.

WOW! Lighten up teach! They were just stating why they wouldn't want one. This is a discussion board after all. I'm sure there are many reasons why YOU decided on your car vs one of the "smaller" MINIs.

Dear ASK, I did not come equipped with a *****, I am the other model, a female!
I have had a small 2 door, ( don't know what else to call it) which I loved, the CM, and now the Clubman. Of the 3 I liked thCM the least..... just my personal preference. Didn't mean to dance on your toes.

like the color of your clubman, my wifes R56 is horizon blue also.

Somebody refereed yo my car as a mini hurst , I took no offense and if my
clubman was black I would consider making it look like a funeral car

Love knowing there are other "his and hers" mini owners! Hubbys is British racing green.

That's funny about the hearse...... would have to be a hearse for "munchkins".
