I've been meaning to fabricate my own. Haven't been able to find any good scrap yet though, and keep forgetting to take the tow hook to the local tools store and find a bolt with same threads. Eventually I'll do a how to. Literally should only cost 10 dollars or less.

Hah! I had the same reaction to it that I had to my phone/SG holder. "I paid how much for this?? ... Oh, wait... This really is engineered well, isn't it? Yeah, it really is worth that much..."
I have the U.S. Millworks mount....its full width support of your license plate unlike the Platapus mount and is extremely well made...and priced accordingly unfortunately. Even has an optional "quick release" feature to remove your plate prior to car wash brushes attacking it.
