engine swap and rwd conversion, thoughts

Ok, so im looking at having a little fun and converting a car to RWD.
Ive got three options in my head
1, use the s motor with rx7 trans and rear suspn/diff
2, m50 from a bmw 325, complete drivetrain including rear diff/susp
3, go all out and put an LS1 chev in it, lol

Whats everyone think

maybe a mid engine configuration would make more sense. I suppose it matters if you are building for the drag strip vs something that handles well.

I also think if you're going to do it anyway just because you enjoy that sort of thing I can see how it could be cool. Lastly, I think that if you're going to put in the effort it only makes sense to do AWD.

I agree Because it would be smarter to go AWD

Trouble with AWD is trying to find a unit that will fit under the hood of the mini.
Not exactly a big engine compartment to work with.

If these guys can make it work with a classic Mini making it happen with a modern one should be doable...
