Anyone in San Jose, CA area interested/willing to look at a Mini for me

Looking at purchasing a new to us Mini and I'm looking at a 2006 MCS located near San Jose. Just wondering if someone wouldn't mind taking a look/test drive before I get a flight, etc... My experience with used car dealers are as one might expect and they tend to leave out some pretty major stuff when you call on the phone beforehand. Plus there's an aftermarket gage installed, can't tell if it's a boost gage or not, so I'm wondering if the car has been modified. Thanks in advance.

If you're coming out here, you might want to look at this car too.

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/5327430979.html

It looks great, low miles, chrono pack, HK, Xenons, factory aero body kit, VT motor mount, and ATI crank pulley, Powerflex control arm and engine bushings, 15% pulley, plus more. I don't know what the going price is for these cars are now, but it looks well sorted and clean. Berkeley is also very close to Bay Bridge Motors in Oakland who can probably do a PPI for you.

Not sure if this is a NAM members car, but it definitely looks like an owner who knows about MINI maintenance upgrades when the usual stuff goes bad.

It's not my car, but just ran across it trying to find the car you want looked at. Any more info on the San Jose car? I'm frequently in Silicon Valley and might be close to the dealer.

Thanks for the link. That one might be a little bit out of my price range that I'm looking at right now, but is definitely a clean looking car.

Only things that PW MCS needs is Navigation and a JCW tuning kit.

The JCW kit would be nice... curious though, why do you prefer NAV since it's not user friendly and outdated? I have NAV and only really use it for my iPod interface. When I was looking, I really wanted the big iconic speedo and was going to add gauge pods with Marshall gauges around the tach. I don't like the look of the chrono pack, but many do.

The ad seems carefully worded as "FULLY LOADED with ALL factory option packages, including very Rare factory installed aero kit option". The NAV wouldn't be included because it wasn't a "package", but the Checkmate package is missing, so it's not fully loaded, even if he's not including the JCW package because it was called the JCW kit.

Also, if there are two versions of the same packages, wouldn't the more expensive one be needed to be fully loaded? It looks like it has the regular sports package and not the sports package with the R90 web spokes.

I guess it's just like any other used car ad where hype>truth and it's up to the buyer to do their homework.

We are enthusiast so we know all the true options and fully loaded meaning I have seen a 2005 MCCS that was over 50K new. That was fully loaded.

..." including very Rare factory installed aero kit option"
Especially rare since the Aero Kits were a dealer fit accessory

I super appreciate all the free bumps, but I'm actually looking at a different car. Anyone?
