Can I keep trip odometer visible?
One of the things I miss about my old Mazda3 is the fact that it had two trip odometers. I could use one for total trip mileage and one from gas station to gas station. But what is really annoying is that the odometer on my "new" 2012 Countryman rotates with other information in that screen below the tach. Is there any way to set it so that the trip odometer stays visible?
I am leaving on a trip Friday, Looking forward to driving my Mini Cooper Countryman on winding Kentucky roads for the first time. But ...

You just have to select it each time. On the push button when you start up the car, dont press and hold , it will reset.

on my 2012 cms all4, whichever data that is showing when i stop is the data that shows aftet next start ... it has always acted like that
along with digital speed, i can display (via a press of the button on the end of the turnsignal stalk)
trip mileage
miles remaining until out of fuel
avg mpg
instantaneous mpg
avg speed
temp
but whichever is displayed at shutdown is the one displayed ar next start

Blush... It stayed in place on my entire thousand mile trip. I wonder if I have been tapping the end of the wand accidentally when I use the turn signal.
Thanks all for setting me straight.
BTW: On my trip I set google maps gps to no highways on my way from southern Indiana to southeast Kentucky. I twisted an turned in the Ohio River valley and across Kentucky. Those are the kind of roads my car was made for but it took me two days. Coming back I drove straight through on freeways (or superhighways, as we call them in Chicago). Almost 10 hours at 70-80 mph. Not as bad as I expected. But Boring, exhausting and not fun.
Thanks again.
