Adaptive Transmission / Reset

Adaptive Transmission / Reset
Well after seeing a ton of posts about resetting our so called smart transmissions. I felt like I needed to chime in and Debunk it. There is no way to do it with out the dealer unless you have the software and equipment they would use to do it themselves.
Your MINI comes with 3-4 modes.
1. D (Drive) - Comfort Mode. Overtime your transmission will adapt based on your driving style. Some of you may have noticed hard down shifts in stop and go traffic and then realized they softened up a few days later. Your MINI made some adaptions.
2. SD (Move the shifter to M/S) - This is the mode that is first engaged when you move the shifter to manual mode. You are not technically in manual mode until you shift. This brings up the Sport Map for the transmission in automatic mode and is the best way to get that sporty feel back with out pressing the Sport Mode button and changing other things.
3. Sport Mode (Button) - This brings up the Sport Map in any situation. Tightens the steering, Pop and Burble from the exhaust etc. Full Sport Mode.
4. M1-M6 - Move the gear selector over and select a gear. You have full control over the transmission.
Going to mode 2 SD or pressing the Sport Button will put the adaptions to the side. I thought most of you should know you don't always have to feel the tighter wheel and listen to the raspy exhaust to bring up the the Sport Map for the tranny. This info was taken from BMW documentation.
Another tip: If you shift from D-R in less than .5 seconds you can bypass the lock and use it to rock your car free from snow.
