Pre-Trip Checklist

Has anyone compiled a good checklist of things to check before taking a long drive in the Mini?

I've made 2 long cross country trips in our '12 MCS. The only thing I did was make sure maintenance was up to date, fluids topped off and tire air pressure. Smooth sailing..

What AZ said plus I always take along a few cleaning supplies, an extra qt of oil and a jug of good whisky for the end of the day. Study the maps closely so as to avoid the interstates. Those old back roads have less traffic and hold many a surprise missed by the masses that are worth a visit. Besides, you'll find yourself less fatigued at the end of the day (and that sip of whisky will taste better) from having to fight the heavy traffic.
My rule of thumb I'll share:
Keep you wheels between the ditches, your mind between your ears and the greasy side down and enjoy the roads less traveled.

Now you're talking! I love the idea of a very formal looking checklist that include "Post-Drive Whiskey".

I've found a few other checklists, including what Mini looks at for their CPO program (though that is extreme overkill) so I might put together something short and focused when I have time. Just wanted to see if there were any Mini-specific things that could go wrong, like something related to the Turbo, certain fluid levels, etc.

If you've maintained regular service on all systems, things should be copacetic. Just thought of other good on the road resources, a list of Top Tier fuels sources and a list of BMW/MINI independent shops around the country just in case.
