General MINI TalkShared experiences, motoring minutes, and other general MINI-related discussion that applies to all MINIs, regardless of model, year or trim.
My daily driver here at work in Toronto is my 07 MCSC. Back home in Calgary I have an '04 Element. They have never met, so I'm not sure who is first and who is second.
I'll ship the Mini back home next year when I am done here, looking forward to taking it out to the mountains.
2006 MCS as newest of the lot - Usually my wife's ride---she likes this car more than any we have had in 40+ years of marriage----My work ride is a 2005 Magnum with 340HP Hemi, and a 1977 Austin Mini 1000 RHD in a stage 1 tune provides much entertainment
From the GreenSide, I have a few friends that are a bit upset with the 340 HEMI. . . so I buy "carbon credits" from my Austin Mini 1000 --- nice offset, I think. Ok, that's my story and I am sticking to it
2003 Honda Accord ,my wife's or when we all go together ,1999 Dodge 1500 truck for my work .This makes my insurance only $50.00 per month for the Mini .They consider it a weekend driver .
Family Cars:
2003 Range Rover White
2001 Range Rover White
2004 BMW 745i Sky Blue "Individual"
2006 BMW 520i Black
2007 MINI CooperS DS
2001 Toyota Land Cruiser GX
My daily drive is a MCS05. Our second car is an Audi A4 quadro. We had vans and SUV's in our past. The quadro was for the snow. Turns out the MINI is great in the snow and when we go out together we take the MINI. The A4 now has a ski rack.
MY car (the MINI seems to be dominated by my wife) is 2006 Subaru Tribeca.
My secondary rig is a 1994 Jeep Cherokee with a 4.5" lift. I use it to tow my 4wheeler trailer, hunting/fishing, or when I need to go someplace the MINI can't go. It's my beater.
I've also got a project rig, 1982 Jeep CJ-5. The plan is to eventually restore it. Progress has slowed down on it since I got the MINI. The MCS is just soo much fun, who wants to wrench on an old greasy Jeep when you can motor around in a MINI?
