OK we all own MINIs but what's your second car?

72' type 1 VW (beetle not super)
but he's been hiding in my Grandpa's barn, 16 hours from my apt, since I started college (5 yr program and I've been out for a couple years.
If only they'd let me have a 2nd spot in my parking garage and let me do serious repairs... (of course if they let me work on my car I wouldn't have bought my mini)

We have in our stable:
1987 BMW 735i (My daily driver till I got the Mini)
1999 Lexus RX-300 (for towing the Sea Doo)
1973 Dodge B200 van (for towing the Boston Whaler)
1967 Camaro RS (Mary's Mom bought it new)
In the older days I owned a pair of Lotus Cortinas. Wish I still had them sometimes..almost as much fun as the MINI.
So that's the menagerie to this point. No plans for new additions except maybe a few mods. QXXOTIC will be the MINI's new license as soon as the inmates get done producing it!
:-)

I love the VW microbuses. We had a '79 VW Westphalia Camper that took us on trips from Newfoundland through the Civil War battlefields of the Eastern US. The latter trips started as I worked my way through all of Bruce Catton's books (in case anyone is interested in making such a tour, that's a good way to do it). Anyway, we put about 250,000 miles on her until one day, as we approached Fundy National Park in New Brunswick (Gulf of Maine), she just shut off and then caught fire. At 1am, in winter, and about 40 miles from any civilization. We had an old ivory one-armed budda statuette on the dash ... we rubbed that belly for a long time until someone showed up about 530am and brought us to the airport. Paid cash to have her hauled away, flew home, and never saw her again. Sad! Still love them tho they do have that tendency to self-immolate.

My daily drive is a 2004 MC HB/W, My wifes until last week was a 2004 Chrysler Pacificia that was loaded however every three months it was going to the dealership for repair for things that the dealer would say "I've never seen that part fail before". She has had it loose power and quit at least 3 times requiring it to get towed in. Now thanks to East Bay Mini she drives the 2007 MC MY/B Convertible thankfully it has heated seats because it is top down a majority of the time. Now my older two daughters of 19 and 17 are thinking that by 25 they will have Mini's...
