Does your MINI have a name?

Too funny... My PW/B MINI is named Spike, too. I bought him off the lot, so he's named after his color combo - black/red interior and then the white exterior. That's UGA colors, which happens to be my alma mater...so I named him after one of the UGA mascots. Plus, he's a fierce little thing.
Side note...I've always named my cars even though my family and some of my friends thought I was loony. Whatever. They all had personalities.

And, yes, I always name my cars too....
My first car was a 1980 Chevrolet Citation named Ernie - don't know why, it just seemed to fit.
And then I got a 1996 Geo Prizm for high school graduation. It was green and everyone thought I should name it Kelly....but Kelly was the name of the girl my high school boyfriend cheated on me with (funny how something like that can ruin a name for you) so I opted for Ginger. It seemed fun and the car seemed like fun at the time....
And after having that car totalled in a bad crash that I walked away from, my replacement Chevy Prizm was named Gracie (since I felt like it was grace that let me walk away from the wreck)....
And then I got Winnie Cooper, the Mini Cooper. :-)

I've probably posted this before, but I'm bored now. So, I'll post it again!!!
My MINI's name is Norton. The norton grape is grown locally here in central Missouri and produces our finest Missouri wine (it also makes an especially good port). The twisty country roads that lead to our local wineries are prime MINI motoring territory. So, that ties those together aside from the fact that I love the wine.
The name Norton derives from both old-English and old-German heritage. An obviously good fit for a BMW made MINI! Also, I thought it sounded like a nice British name.
I'm thinking after he rolls over 100,000 miles I will knight him and he will become Sir Norton.

Always named cars also, heck I name lots of things and then talk to it Yes a little wacky
I named our mini "Phantama" because the wife was thinking along the lines of grey ghost and the kids where thinking silver streak ..... Then I started thinking about a Jame Bond movie with the character "Phantama Blush". She had a nice curvy figure, was fast, seem to always wear dark close with a light accent (like a stripe) and made lots of noise and was expensive ...... SO guess what, Phantama fit
Here she is Phantama,
My wife is still laughing .... Yet another mistress to keep the other 24+ mistresses company
Cheers,
Roberto

I wanted to go with a British name, so watched some Monty Python and Fawlty Towers. After that it was kind of down to Dennis, Patsy or Basil. But after a couple of New Year's drinks it popped into my head: Cricket. I grew up out in the country and the sound of crickets at night was always a happy summery sound. And he's green. And cricket is a British game. So it stuck.
