Clover

I just picked her up on Monday, March 17th, which happens to be St. Patrick's Day. Plus, the license plates began with CL, and I'm very proud of my Irish heritage.

Saw an exhibit about racing at Pike's Peak at the Unser Racing Museum, and found the mountain's namesake unique and inspiring: Zebulon.

Right now, I'm leaning towards MoneyPenny (if it seems like a girl) or, I have to admit, Mr. Darcy is on my list as well if the car seems like a boy. Simply love P&P.. Though, perhaps Mr. Knightly would work as well. My BRG baby is just itching for a Brit name.

(Though, had I gone Oxygen Blue, I would have put a Breakfast at Tiffany's still on as a roof graphic and a white bow on the hood and driven around in my own "Little Blue Box".. maybe the next MINI will be that way!)

I found my pre-loved 03 MINI in a storage yard full of old Jeeps waiting for conversions. She was a trade in and had sort of been forgotten. I had looked at several MINI's in dealer lots since I was in the market for a used one...financially and I just couldn't find the right one.
I knew the moment I saw her that she was Allie, my older sister's name, who had passed away one year earlier.
Allie is British Racing Green with a white roof and brand new white bonnet stripes.
In my honor, she wears 3 turtle decals on her rear window plus an original actual size decal.
She is the most terrific car I have ever owned and every day is more fun than the last.
I liked my 74 Celica who was named hot chocolate, but Allie is true love!

I think I've narrowed mine down to 3 names. None of them with any British influence but good nonetheless.

First being "Cubbie". Well because it will be blue and I'm a life long Chicago Cubs Fan and bleed Cubbie Blue but the MINI doesn't really have that "Loveable Loser" thing going for it. Although the Cubs have been a little better the past couple of years.

Second being "Dash" after that really frickin speedy kid that is so fast he could run on water from The Incredibles movie. No explaination needed there!!

And lastly, I like "Libby". Since it will be Lightning Blue with a Black roof and the way it is abbreviated is LiB/B. So why not just add the "y" and make it a name for the MINI!!

Well decisions decisions decisions!! I think I will wait till I get it and then I'm certain I will know!!

Stella's name came from "A Streetcar named Desire" because she will be my street car which I've desired. Also when DH is looking for me in a crowded place, he calls for me..."STELL-AAAA". It was my way of including him in on the fun!

Strangely enough, my DS MCSc is also named Stella -- but she is named for the character in the new version of The Italian Job, not Streetcar. It was actually my wife's idea and as soon as she suggested it, it stuck. My two boys (ages 3 and 4) love her -- "Do we have to take the Tahoe or can we go top down motoring in Stella!?"

Good times, good name.

Good times, good name.
The name from The Italian Job was also a contributing factor, along with the fact that I needed an "S" name to go along with my MCS.

License plate will be ~C MS COOP~. CMS=my initials.

I'm having WAY TOO MUCH FUN and I'm not even driving her yet!

Stella was also in my original top 10, GemsCoop. We're still down to two finalists, but have yet to decide between

Honey Rider - Ursula Andress' character in Ian Fleming's James Bond - Dr. No

and

Sugar Magnolia - Grateful Dead song:

Well, she can dance a Cajun rhythm, jump like a *****'s in four wheel drive.
She's a summer love in the spring, fall and winter. She can make happy any man alive.

Sugar magnolia, ringing that bluebell, caught up in sunlight, come on out singing
I'll walk you in the sunshine, come on honey, come along with me.

She's got everything delightful, she's got everything I need,
A breeze in the pines in the summer night moonlight, crazy in the sunlight yes indeed.

Sometimes when the cuckoo's crying, when the moon is half way down,
Sometimes when the night is dying, I take me out and I wander around, I wander 'round.

Sunshine, daydream, walking in the tall trees, going where the wind goes
Blooming like a red rose, breathing more freely,
Light out singin', I'll walk you in the morning sunshine
Sunshine, daydream. Sunshine, daydream. Walking in the sunshine.

Decisions, decisions.

I've decided on ZOE! =) No rhyme or reason, just because it fits.

Named her after I got her, Clara, after my maternal grandmother. My next door neighbor said because I am a guy, the name had to be female.

Hm, i thought the opposite of your neighbor. Since i'm a girl, i didn't want to have a guy car. I like my Zoe!
