Thus I thought of choosing a name in honor of Her Majesty’s Royal Navy ships of WW II. Names such as….. Illustrious, Victorious, Indomitable, Implacable, Indefatigable, Valiant, Warspite, Renown, Hood, Terror, Furious, Courageous, Glorious, Audacity, Puncher, Avenger, Biter, Chaser, Reaper, Valorous, Tally Ho…….etc. Amazing names!! Who’s with me? Anyone?!?!?
They seem to roll off the tongue. As in,
- Time to jump in “Audacity” and run to pick up a gallon of milk.
-Pardon sir, but you’ve parked you Ford a little too close to “Implacable”.
-“Victorious” sure sips the gas even though I can’t stop pressing the sport button.
What to choose? What to choose?

- Yes, the Renown is a joy to pilot (er, drive!).
- The Illustrious is embarking from the driveway.
- Cool vanity plates, too - "HMS Hood"

I can appreciate naming something dear to you such as your Mini. It is important to name your Mini aptly. While I only hold my fellow Mini owners (and future owners) in high esteem and would never question an individuals inalienable right to name their Mini as they see fit. Some come across as cute. Which is totally fine and I can see the fun in it (Some are quite clever) . I however wish to somehow capture a more masculine name, perhaps something that carries some sense of might with it (while also honoring the British heritage). Here through some of that computer magic and razzle-dazzle is the BS that my subconscious and the black box fed me for MINIMETOO (my MINI's name-he lets me co-opt it as my user name)
Now many people assume that my screen name is a way of shouting that I also drive a MC. But if you thought that yer wrong, oh so wrong. Its a actually a derivation of a little known word in the language of Seven Nations Indians (Seneca and Moe Howard I believe). A name meaning little, swift, cute as a button, furry forest dweller that races around and around Gitchigumi by the shining big sea waters until you get dizzy watching it and barf (it nature's adaptation to insure survival of the species). Honest....that's what it means, really - why would I lie to other Mini owners.

Well with all the requirements in the quoted part of the post 2 above this one only one name is appropriate. He played an English Agent, He drives a MINI. It is the one and only Johnny English played by Rowan Atkinson, you know, Mr. Bean. So you have to name your car Rowan
All kidding aside, I have not come up with one yet either. Never named a car before and may not name this one. Have to wait and see after I get it to see if it names itself.

It's funny but when I started reading this many weeks ago, I thought "NAME A CAR??? These people are INSANE!!!" I have owned five cars and have never named any of them. Not that I didn't call them a myriad of names but i cannot use those words in a public forum. Even the car I loved BEST of all (1967 Cougar XR7) never had name. After reading all of these posts, I realized that my Mini MUST have a name. It hasn't told me its name yet. It is somewhere in the birth canal right now so it might not be able to talk yet but it must and will have a name. Something besides "THIS %$@&#*&%&$&*#*$ CAR!!!!!!"
