I could use some help/guidance with the whole name thing.
I've had my MINI for over 18 months now and we've been a few places.
But a name hasn't just "popped" right out. For now I'm going with "SmoJo" or just "Joe" but these dont seem to truly fit. Advice...anyone?

You got any pics? Names are pretty personal (by definition even) but I agree sometimes you need a little outside help to prime the pump. Maybe once we see some pics some of us will shout out something you'll like!
Also, kids seem to be really good at coming up with perfect names. I think it's a combination of sugar, Japanese cartoons, and a very clear but creative mind that helps. Just show your car to a 1st grader and ask her/him what the car's name is.

Every time I got in mine I would think, "She's a nimble little minx" So Gozer was a no brainer! It still took me a while to make the connection. What are your first thoughts when you slide behind the wheel? Besides pure joy, of course.
I have seen your car and it does remind me a little of the Ecto Mobile...but that could just be my affinity for all things Ghostbusters.

I concur as that is exactly what happened both times for us. The kids came up with a name instantly after the very first look, and we gladly LOL accepted.
Mine is named "Bubba Buggy"- my dogs name is Bubba and we go to the park in the Bubba Buggy-built a little shelf to fill in the space when the seats are flipped down- added a home made pillow and a bottle of water and we are off and flying!!
Oh yes. I have had 3 MINIs, each with his/her own name.
2005 Silver Cabrio named Butch Murphy. (I traded Butch for Reggie, below).
2004 Red MCS (w/white roof, mirror caps & rims) named Molly Pepper - my wife's car
2006 Red MCS Cabrio, black stripes & trim, named Reggie Pepper.
Weird. Maybe even stupid. But we cannot help it. Its ...LOVE.
Hi BH, yes are Mini does have a name, it is "Mrs. Emma peele", it is my wife's car hence the female name. Ever seen the 70's english spy show "The Avengers'? Very cool for the times.
Regards, pete
I named my new Clubbie Jackson -- he looks like a Jackson to me. I have never named a car before, but for some reason, it just felt right this time around.
I named my MINI - Gerti. Take a look at my sigpic..it says it all. Hope to go see my mini grandmother over the Labor Day weekend and get a photo of her and the mini together. At 93, my grandmother still goes where ever she wants. She still drives - in her lane and does at least the speed limit.
If I make it to that age, I hope I'm half as active and spunky as she!...oh, and she really is mini; about 4'9".
I had to come up with a name that had the letter "J" as part of the middle name to keep in some obscure tradition that I fell into, example three Corgi's:
Harper J
Dudley (Bubba) J
Bridget J
So after the purchase of my MCSC I kept trying to come up with a fitting name, especially after seeing some of the great names here, but I just couldn't think of one (creativity is not my strongest trait). But after watching a couple of TIVIO'd Dr. Who episodes, it popped into my head:
