Need help locating a GP!

I'm thinking about buying a GP but can't figure out how to find them. Mini USA's website doesn't help and there's nothing on the internet either. How did you guys find your GP?

BTW, I hate my local Mini dealers, that's why I want to avoid talking to them.

Prestige MINI in New Jersey has an ex-MTTS car for $34,000. Find it HERE. Scroll down the page a bit. Rumor has it this was the car driven in MTTS by Jim McDowell.

MINI of Peabody has just bought one back from its original owner - and they are a wonderful dealership. Don't know price/etc details.

There's also a couple of owners on GPMINI.net that were looking to sell, maybe they still are ... for example:

I bought this car last week. Number 323. I took trains down from Rhode Island to Mahwah on friday, drove it up to montreal, did two track days at Sanair with the quebec bmw club and drove it back to Rhode Island. 1000 miles on the first weekend.

It handles pretty well at high speed and over uneven surfaces, but I had trouble getting it to turn on tight corners. I was beginning to experiment with really deep and aggressive trail braking near the end and that seemed to be helping, and I don't think I had my tire pressures right. I've ordered some pilot sport 2s and I'm going to change the front alignment to 0 degrees and see if that helps it turn in.

Overall, I'm really happy.

Yep, Sterling still has one - roof number 0434. They kinda reduced their market a bit by putting some (OEM) additions on though.

Here's a few pictures - look at the window sticker - you'll see what I mean... they are overcharging for the additions. So basically, the price is increased over MSRP... but at least you get something for that money, not just a blatant mark-up for nothing!

$350 for painted rear calipers. <snort> <breathe>

I just did mine to match the JCW brakes....$20 and ten minutes (I had the wheels off to adjust the rear shocks). MoS really does know how to price gouge.

LOL I never said the prices were reasonable... but it's at least a tad better than other dealers (including DC area dealers) who jacked up the price of their GPs without any additional throw-ins.

The decision to go ahead and slap all that stuff on the GP there was of one person... and the one there who told me about it was shaking his head as he told me. No names to be given.

Oh, don't you know? They are special GP wheel locks!

Anyway, the point of my post wasn't to bash MoS, even though some of that stuff is too funny to ignore. I have a very good relationship with them since I'm one of their biggest MINI customers (after all, my car is named "Mr. OEM" for a reason).

I mostly posted the pics for the benefit / curiosity of Gemusan. It's a new GP, and it's available today... if he/she can stomach the costly add-ons.

Thanks

The "cartoon GP" is one of Craigs wonderful pieces of work; then I photographed my "GP0203" on the roof, and blended the two together

Wonder why GP 0434 is still there..

$99.0 for floor mats - got my 2nd set @ < $50.00 - yes, OEM from a MINI dealer
not sure about clear mask and rear bumper protector: got mine (all corners plus lamps, handles and doors ) for $1,000.
Painted red calipers at $350.00 ????? have they used real blood??

I am not a fan of carbon accents so I find silly paying for the extra stuff.. but if you want a modified GP ...

Starting the bidding at 30k seems optimistic. I would have thought 30k was a good price period.

And that's just the starting price. It also has a reserve...

local west palm beach Mini dealer has a GP in stock for $31,950 that i saw two days ago.
supposedly, it's been on their lot almost a month.

Other than that nice rear spoiler, what's the big deal with a GP?
