need help with door panels

I took them off to put speakers in, now they're back on, they fit and everything, bit the little silver trim piece around the tweeter/door handle, it goes on flush, but then the door handle gets stuck when u pull it, on either side....its fine without that trim piece on...I don't get it. I can't see anything hitting it...what could it be? Anyone sle have this problem?

Thanks in advance.

This happened to me during my door handle swap. Put the panel on without the trim on the door panel. Make sure everything is seated and then install the trim. That's what worked for me.

The trim is not going in far enough so something is keeping it from snapping in or it is just not snapped in all the way.

I just had my door panels off too. 1st drive after reassembly, my wife couldn't open her door. The same problem with the silver trip piece stopping the handle from coming out far enough to open the door. A solid push on the trim piece and it clicked in properly and I haven't had the problem again.

did you break a tab? Some of them on that piece are a bit thin, so I would imagine they would break with out much effort. You might just need a new trim piece if it does not seem to click in properly...maybe a piece of it is stuck in the clip receivers on the door itself?

My only other suggestion is that maybe the door panel itself isn't seated properly. It took quite a bit of force to get all the clips to go in all the way and seat properly.

ok i figured out it was my new tweeters, i need to mount them further back, they were hitting the little trim piece. i got that handled, now i have another issue....

i was taking off the passenge door panel, and i accidentaly ripped the little lock lever thing out of the door, so i put it back in, now it gets stuck when i lock/unlock. the door locks and unlocks, but the little lever gets stuck...not really an issue, it just bothers me.

anyone ever ripped that thing out and had to put it back in?

After a few door panel removals, I have never had a problem with the lock popup button. My only thought is that there is a rubber seal that the rod for the button goes through, that is pretty easy to pop out of the hole in the door metal that holds it. I think that if it isn't seated correctly, the rod doesn't move as freely as it should, giving you this symptom.
