Chrome Mirrors?

I have chrome mirrors on my 06 Mini S JCW. Anyone know if these are chrome mirror covers or full mirror assembly? I was going to try to pull but before I do, I thought I'd asked you guys first.

Thanks!

Since we're discussing JCW mirror covers, I recently got the JCW carbon fiber mirror covers for my Cooper and they appear to be capped. I haven't seen actual carbon fiber caps so I don't know how they compare. At least my mirror covers aren't white anymore as they stuck out sorely.

I have the JCW carbon fiber miror covers on my car, but I'm not sure what you mean by "capped"?

Mirror Caps, any recommendations?

Mini dealers for instance offer caps that fit over the covers with an adhesive. There's the UJ and the checkered, etc. On EBay I have seen chrome caps as well as carbon fiber caps. They often refer to them as covers but the finer print reads that they secure on to the mirror cover with double-sided tape.

Can anyone out there recommend any of mirror cover-caps such as chrome or carbon fiber ones that are sold by MossMini?

Oh, I understand now. The JCW carbon-fiber mirror backs are actual replacements, as opposed to caps. I haven't used any of the caps, so I don't know how they look/fit.

I can't see why you would buy adhesive caps for the mirrors, the cover just pops off and then can be replaced with any other style. I have both the chrome covers which came with my chrome-line exterior as well as a set of UJ that I wear most often. Here's a good thread on how to remove the mirror covers: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=97142
BTW I bought my UJ covers from Morristown MINI.

I guess one argument for the adhesive-back chrome/carbon fiber cap could be that they are about one third the cost of a chrome/carbon fiber cover. I don't know how well the chrome/carbon fiber caps compare to the chrome/carbon fiber covers.

I tried pulling the covers off today, and I was not successful - I was afraid I was going to break something.

Please assist in easy way of removing without cracking the covers.

Thanks again!
