Interior/Exterior Whalen knob - have you seen these?

Believe it or not, I'm about to order a whalen for my CVT . I tested one today, it fits, its not too snug, but it dosnt fall off. Im probably going to put a drop or two of gorilla glue inside of it then put it on. So, if you want to glue it on, you can do it! I have no problem being the guinea pig if you want to wait though.
I'll be waiting anxiously for the testing of the prototype.

Wow Doug, those shift ***** are amazing. Nice to see you teaming up with another company to further enhance your Whalen's. Down the road, I said I'd get another Whalen and this might be the answer. I don't plan on getting one now though, but maybe sometime next year at the earliest.
Btw Tanchogirl, I realize you live in Madison. Funny enough though, I've never seen your MINI driving around. Maybe I'm just driving in the wrong areas.

When you push the button it raises the rod out of the way allowing the shifter to move. So by replacing OEM with a Whalen, its like always having the button pressed. Which really isn't even that big of a deal, because your MINI electronically locks itself in neutral if you shift into it when driving by accident until the RPMs drop to a safe speed. I've done a bit of test (parking lot) driving with out my 'shifter' in.

Makes sense given that our auto trannies are all-electronic... not like an old mechanical linkage that you could slide into reverse while moving...
I'm going to have to take mine off and play around.... but if this holds true with the steptronic, I can see an AC/Whalen **** in my future...

I wonder if an insert like the checkered with MINI wing logo would look with a gear layout behind the logo in another color. I really like the checkers and they go with my car, but somehow I have a mental block on not having the layout (not that I need it, it just does not seem right for some reason). Thinking about it, it might be too busy.

I'd had mine off twice before ordering the Whalen to add a chrome bezel and then a leather shift boot. The OEM **** just pops right back on, and off, and on...

I received my new Shift Machine. WOW!!! I love it. Doug was the best to work with. He bent over backward to try to get one to me ASAP. I put it on Sunday night when I got back in town. I only had a chance to drive to the gas station. Yesterday I drove to Milwaukee with the MadisonMinis to join up with the MilwaukeeMinis for an ice cream social. The shifting is smoother and it looks fantastic! I had fun showing it off to the group.
Look again at his and his website. If you've been thinking about a **** upgrade be sure to consider one of these. I sure couldn't be happier with the Whalen Shift Machine and the excellent customer service!
I've tried to take a few photos. I'll post even though they're awful. There is a reason artists pay for product photographs!
