Whalen **** - have you seen these?

I just looked at the Whalen site (again after some time). They now have their Shift Machine ***** with vinyl from Aesthetic Creations. Have I been sleeping at the wheel? I haven't seen these mentioned on NAM or AC's website. I just placed my order and I can't wait! :impatient I wish they were open today. They are only about 80 miles from me. I could jump in the MINI and go get it (if it's a stock item). I'll be watching for the postman for sure! Here is a little from the Whalen website:

Whalen Shift Machine has teamed up with Aesthetic Creations to offer our stainless steel shift ***** with vinyl inserts, for your MINI!
At this point, we offer a selection of four stock designs, as shown. All are 1 3/16” diameter.
If desired, custom insert designs are possible. Contact us for pricing on custom inserts.

Hey cool. I tried to call, but, didn't leave a message. It's good to know I'll have to be (oh I hate this word) patient. I really would be on my way to Freeport if you had one on hand. Any idea of time frame for the polished ****? Polished is a must. My car is a checkered chrome kinda MINI.

Oh yeah, CooperGear your guess is correct. I did indeed order the checkered one!

I have a batch of ***** assembled and going to the polisher (in Rockford) on Monday.

With any luck, they might buff a couple of them while I wait. If so, I can machine the pocket in the top, pop the insert in, and ship it out either Monday afternoon or Tuesday.

I'll let you know.

Doug, nice to see your website updated! One comment -- your notes on the R56 **** are a bit ambiguous and almost imply that yours will not work. You just need to clarify that you have ***** for both the old and new shifters but they aren't compatible with each other.

Dang automatic transmission...... I love it except that I can't use cool *****... Grrrr..... Need one with the UJ/wings to match my centercaps... Grrr....

I'm about ready to design one with the requisite button and see if I can mod one (or pay Doug to do it for me...)...

Awesome!

Wow Doug, those shift ***** are amazing. Nice to see you teaming up with another company to further enhance your Whalen's. Down the road, I said I'd get another Whalen and this might be the answer. I don't plan on getting one now though, but maybe sometime next year at the earliest.

Btw Tanchogirl, I realize you live in Madison. Funny enough though, I've never seen your MINI driving around. Maybe I'm just driving in the wrong areas.

Ooooh. I had not seen those before. I already have a Whalen but one of those wood ones could tempt me. I am not sure if I prefer the one with the checkers or the wood on wood inlay.

Mike from AC told me about these probably a year ago. I was wondering when they were finally going to surface. They look nice.

Cool!! Now I won't have a shift **** bouncing around the inside of the cockpit when I get into some spirited driving.

Believe it or not, I'm about to order a whalen for my CVT . I tested one today, it fits, its not too snug, but it dosnt fall off. Im probably going to put a drop or two of gorilla glue inside of it then put it on. So, if you want to glue it on, you can do it! I have no problem being the guinea pig if you want to wait though.
