The Removal of Trim Pieces....
So, I am the new owner of a 2003 Mini Cooper S in Dark Silver, and the interior was a little worn (hey, it was a steal, I had to live with a couple of things)
I want to replace some Trim Pieces, possibly buying new ones in Anthracite. My question to everybody here is:
Do you all know how difficult it is to remove the Downtubes/ Door mouldings (oval portion and grab bar/ arm rest)?
Does anybody know about the Dash panels as well. Are they difficult? Are there any write-ups on how to remove them?
Any and all information is greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

Get the MINI Service Manual and you can't go wrong. Just about everything you need to know about the interior removal and installation can be found. It is worth the $$$ investment. You can find the manual on a few of the AM sites. Good Luck!

4 out of 5 of the dash pieces are easy to remove; the airbag cover is a little more involved. As to the door trim, if you are thinking about repainting the trim, yes they are removable ( it ain't easy). If you are thinking replacement, then you'll need to buy whole new trim panels. The ovals are glued on, and are not available separately.
Downtubes are easily removed.
A search of this sub-forum will get you several good write-ups on the removal process.
Painting would be the least costly means of a color change; replacement would involve a new airbag module and new door cards (probably over $1000 in parts).
