Interior/Exterior How do i get my Whalen gear knob to fit on my Alta short shifter

I have just got a Whalen shift knob and have tried to fit it to my alta short shifter and it doesnt seem to slid down enough.I have the adaptor peice from ALTA to allow you to use a std shift knob but the Whalen knob seems to have a smaller hole and only goes so far .I need it to slide down further to slot onto the cutout on the top of the knob.

+1...can Whalen make them to fit the Alta shifter without adaptors?

Have you tried talking to Doug Whalen? He was absolutley the best to work with when I ordered mine (OEM shifter). He should be able to answer your questions.
