Looks like a cheap version of the otherwise pricey aero grille. Looks pretty sweet IMO. But, my question is, how hard is it to install? I read in my Bentley manual how to remove the upper half and that seems easy. Its like 10 or 12 screws or bolts right? But, what about the lower half? Is that any more involved or did I just miss something?

 

the aero grille is pricey? Less than $100/shipped for top and bottom for OEM is C H E A P ! Try doing the same for a Subaru....it will cost you 3-4 times that

No, not the same. top piece is easy -- middle piece requires some work with a dremmel . . . you can find discussion of it in the forum

 

Aw crap. I'm a little leary about aking a dremmel to car I haven owned for about a year and have oh, 4 more years of payments on.

I'd removed my grill a couple of weeks ago for painting. Is easy once you know how... The one attached to the bumper (lower one) comes attached just by a double face tape or something like that. Just pull it gently from sides to center.
About the Minspeed one, I saw it a couple of weeks ago at Minspeed; is very nice! I'd choose the chromed one.. both look good!

i've owned my mini for a couple months when i did my aero grill. it took me a while to figure out EXACTLY where to cut..then once i cut i became confident. takes about 2-4 hours to install both grills. (depends on if you take off your front bumper) you dont HAVE to..but in a way it may be easier. i did mine without taking off my bumper.
im not 100% happy with the bottom one cause it doesnt sit flush with the body. but im still happy with it. love it.
