Both sides of this argument need to get over themselves and stop thinking that anyone cares about their opinions concerning the performance or cutting the hood.

Doesnt sound like EITHER side has done proper testing to prove their own statements.....so its just the same opinions being thrown back and forth at each other.

This is gettin tooo funny.
gnatster, not sure why you felt I was addressing you, or anyone in particular.
What, I posted one single post on this thread and that's too much for you? Not sure I even gave an opinion one way or the other on how it looked. Yet some here seem to post over and over again with their opinion in defense of all others, .... and "I'm" the one being questioned. Come on man. What's really up with that?

As gnatster says we really don't have enough information to make any conclusions at this point. Right now all we can make a call on is..."do I like it or not? (for whatever you're favorite reason might be)" Followed closely by "do I like it enough that I would cut my hood"?

If the answer is no to either question then you've made your decision and can rest well knowing that your dollars won't be spent on this mod...regardless if it is intended to be a cosmetic or performance modification.

Rally, if you're going to moderate you need to be more specific in your posts.

can't tell if that's sarcasm or not but I'll agree with Rally that it's a broken record in this thread.

I was plenty specific......EVERYONE who is arguing is just repeating themselves.

Points are made, let's stop beating the dead horse please. For those that are looking for useful information on this topic, it has now been lost amongst all the tangents and arguments. Please take your arguments to PMs at this point. Thanks.

gnatster, yes you can state an opinion here Thats what NAM is supposed to be about.
xbook, agree with you That is one ugly hood scoop:
RallyMINI;
Rsstopper's findings are based on track conditions, yes he spent the money and shared his findings. That is a TON more info and credibility than anything offered by the vendor at this point, it's his call to do the testing and convincing but I don't see anything.
The argument that heat soak is a problem for street driven cars with the OEM A2A doesn't count for much because it recovers very quickly when the car starts moving.
How many people on here are going for it?

Maybe you better upgrade those brakes first

Man I turn my back on this thread for a day and all hell breaks loose LOL . First and foremost let me say that in my opinion the number of people that have posted in this thread will exceed the total number of extractor scoops sold. You all are wasting way too much time analyzing something that very few people would ever do and we went into this endeavor knowing that. If the looks do not appeal to you or the idea of cutting your hood is more than you are able to handle fine. You are ,by far, in the majority. That being said the orders are still coming in as there are those that are looking for this type of item for their project. Making fun of the looks , implying falsely that it is needed to make the DFIC work or disagreeing on the effectiveness of the concept in general is not going to make one iota of difference in the long run. Peter and I had a discussion whether or not we would ever cover the cost of the mold much less make a significant profit. We figure if we come out even on this one we would be happy as it is truly being done as an accommodation to some of our more persistent customers. This product is merely another accessory to enhance the performance of the DFIC. As with the aerogel products it is by far not a NECESSARY item. Many DFIC customers are happy with added performance of the base DFIC. These items are just there for those that like to go the extra yard.On a side note with the way our motors bake under that tight hood, just watching the column of heat distorted air rise up thru my scoop on any stop is well worth the effort even if I did not have a DFIC.

I was one of those persistent customers ( sorry Randy if I talked you into it).
Given all this attention, I think I might install three . Actually, now that I think about it, I may just remove my entire hood and mod up some headlights
to mount on the strut towers----this should result in 23,578 more violent postings .

Guilty as charged.
I have done a base line dyno. If I feel inclined I'll pay another $50 with the
new AES ( however us gearheads know that the as dyno on a different day
is , well "different").
However since my last HSR racer/street car was 541hp and 2100 pounds,
I think it is funny that I am getting dumped on for not being performance oriented . I think that I am going to put on an Uber light bar and wing .
There we go---another 43,864 violent postings

I like the idea of a vent behind the DFIC, I think it makes a lot of sense. My regular parts guy is supposed to be sending me a new bonnet to play with so I don't have qualms about cutting the bonnet. My only issue with this product is that I want something that I would best describe as more integrated in looks.

Sorry guys, I should have put a "" at the end of my post.
I have no beef with Rally, he's the only one on this board with a cool, level head. It's nice to have him here to keep everyone in check.
