Yakima Roof Rack Question

Hi All,

For those of you with a Yakima roof rack.....

For the MINI Q78 clips, the measurement for M1 is 36.5 inches. The measurement for M3 is 37.25.

Question:

Do I run any risk of problems by using the same distance for the M3 measurement as the M1 measurement?

I really don't see why this would be a problem. The rear towers would sit a little higher up, and would clear the sunroof?

Appreciate your thoughts!

Motor Happy!

I would actually advise you to do it. I had my drivers side window explode when I was headed to a race in San Diego. The yakima clip had slid down inside of my window and wedged it out just a tad and when I hit a bump in the freeway my window exploded! I thought someone had literally shot out my window. Scared the heck out of me. It was tinited so the tint held it together. Fix was 300 bucks.
