Any way to replace the chrome gas cap or door handles with white versions in a way that will hold up? Toying with the idea...

Had mine done in PS over 8 months ago and no scratches as of yet.

 

I got parts off other people and am taking them into a shop when they are doing another white paint job and should only be paying for prep work (though I am going to see about doing it myself). Then replacing them. I am still collecting all my parts. I dont have the patience for painting or a location to do it myself.

 

It will tunr out better having it done at a shop. Good choice.

 

Ross, I had my door handles vinyl wrapped during AMVIV by Lagston (an AMVIV vendor) and swapped them after he shipped them back to me.
Yesterday, I had my petrol door powdercoated black. Got it done in Henderson, cost me $25. Let me know if you want the address. Swapping the petrol door is MUCH simpler than the door handles.

 

Thanks Andrew...but can they powdercoat in white? Not sure I've seen that before...

 

If you want real white (as opposed to Pepper White), you should be good for the petrol door. The door handles can't be powdercoated because they're plastic, not metal.
If you want to do like I did and get everything colored then swap out the parts on the car, let me know, I have my original handles and petrol door that I'd do an exchange with you.

 

That's a great idea...If I can just figure out how to put them on

ps: I'm stuck in FL (without my MINI ) for at least 3 more weeks so you'll definitely have to get the parts from Scooby as we planned.
