Do MINIs have a clutch stop, or can we add one?
I know I am going to want a clutch stop really bad when I get my Mini. From a quick search it doesn't look like the Minis have a stock clutch stop on the floor board. Has anyone looked under the carpet to see if there is a threaded hole to add a clutch stop?

There may be an issue with using a Clutch Stop on a MINI.
From: http://www.bimmerworld.com/html/rogu...lutch-stop.htm
"NOTE: some later E36 and all E46 BMWs require the clutch to be partially or fully depressed in order to start the vehicle. Because of the nature of the clutch stop, it does not allow the clutch to be depressed fully to the floor, and may not activate the switch to allow the car to start."
Since the MINI requires the clutch to be depressed for starting, this may be an issue. Before you start a mod, you might want to experiment by putting wood blocks, or something, under the clutch pedal to see if you can reduce travel and still start the car.

This is true. I recently test drove and 04 and i couldnt start it and was wondering what the hell was going on. I also couldnt get it into gear at a stop light and was freaking out. all this because the clutch was like 1 or 2 inches from the floor. i thought, ok well i pushed it way past the engagement point, anything after that is dead space anyway right? wrong, it wouldnt do anything until the clutch pedal touched the floor.
Obviously this was my first time driving a mini and maybe my third time driving manual.
