The process in theory is very easy, it's the practice thats a bugger. Not to take anything away from grddyperp it seems we both are doing some similar mods here since I've also molded in the scoop in the bonnet I'm in the process of modding.

In a nutshell:
Remove scoop
Grind to bare metal the area of the bonnet where the scoop sits and some of the surrounding area.
Grind finish off scoop
Test fit
With scoop in place fill gaps surrounding area with a panel bond material. Let cure
Sand smooth
Fill any gaps or low spots with appropriate filler
Sand
Fill any gaps or low spots with finer grade appropriate filler
Sand
Scuff entire bonnet
Primer coat
Sand
Primer coat of another color to use as visual aid
Sand
Spot prime any bare metal
light sand
Paint

A lot more to it then that, but those are the basic steps.

Paint is easy, preparing to paint so it comes out right is a lot of work

The thread I have on venting my bonnet has pictures of some of the process

Just use your explorer to occupy the page of the pic and copy the web address. (in order to get this to work with photobucket I had to use the direct link address to the right of the pic) Paste that into the "insert image" tool in the messate thread.
