Kind of, but instead of arching it, and then have that "V" where the line connects to the oval in the door, I'd either make it run parallel to the floor (from the top of the oval) over to the tweeter,
or, arch it from the oval to the tweeter. I'd just make sure there where no un-flowing lines.

I think this one is best^^^
I know a lot of people are saying round to match the roundness of the mini design.....but if this one is capable of molding down into the circle of the door pocket, it will stick out much less than the rounded version. You'd have to have both of the points taper down and look as if they're flowing into the door pocket surround....and then i think it will look really integrated.
PS forget anyone teasing you about cutting the door card. It's not like it will be visible with the glass on there. It's no different than trimming arches to fit your wheels, or trimming your rear valance to fit a different exhaust. Just be sure to be patient and take your time with the glassing...it will save you time in the long run

i just thought about re arranging the speakers, but if i dont stick with a design, itll never get done. im hoping i can fit the mids in there without hitting the window, or the front of the pod hitting the side of the seat.
i SHOULD be able to fit it, its gonna be close though, very close.
what should i cover the pod in? i wish i could get it painted to match that "brushed" look that ive got on the oval piece now, but i cant....should i cover that brushed look too, so it all matches?

Why couldn't you copy the brush look? Get the fiberglass all finished up...smooth it out and sand it with superfine paper. Then go back with a coarse sanding disc and strategically add some swirl marks (not too many).....then you just spray silver over it.
I don't even know if that would work....but something along those lines should be able to replicate the finish.

idk it seems like too much work lol, id rather cover it in something. i kinda want to do suede, but i dont know what color...i dont want black becuase nothing inside is black, its all more of a charcoal..im thinking a grayish silver like the headliner? and ill just recover the oval piece too? idk

But... If you cover it, I'd use a material as similar to the textured plastic of the door panel, personally... Fabric will look... not right. IMHO, of course.

i may not do that, i may not even make a pod to attach the door anymore....im thinking of just glassing directly on the door panel, and just having both panels recovered in vinyl either to match the interior, or black vinyl, and then id just start to recover everything in my car black (not the charcoalish color of the stock panels)
what you think? check my thread i just made in the interior forum
