need your idea's on this one.

ok so when i get my wall back in, the back will be completely sealed from the front of the interior. meaning i open the hatch, and i see the back of the wall (will be covered of course)

so far, ive got the headliner and C pillars back there in suede. i was gonna cover the side panels (on each side of the rear seats) in black vinyl, but im thinking, should i do suede?

basically the area in green would be vinyl, and the headliner, c pillars, side trim, and the bottom trim piece right above the bumper, would be black suede.

now, those side panels...the front of it (what will be seen from the front seats) is already covered in vinyl. so yes, one panel will be covered in 2 different materials, but you wont be able to see, becuase the wall will be in the middle of the panel. all you see is the front of the panel, and the back of the panel (like i said, front is already vinyl, back im thinking of doing suede)

does that make any sense? lol.

blue, red, and purple areas will be black suede, the green area (the rear trim panel for my wall) will be vinyl (the amps will also be mounted to this rear panel)

I paid about the same for a yard of blue Alcantara. My bet is you bought Alcantara (the brand of suede) which is used in all the high-end cars like Porsche, Aston Martin, etc.

Pricey but it truly is the best stuff out there.

What exactly are the advantages of Alcantara over more standard run of the mill Suede? I'd like to do a few things to my car in Suede (and maybe eventually the headliner). Also, how difficult is sewing your own suede interior pieces? Is there a special technique or machine needed or can you use a standard sewing machine with a heavier needle?

I never said that. You did have someone else do it right? I don't see enough glue slop for a DIY job

yeah...he knows I'm just ribbing him.

I want to do my dash in suede to complement the JCW leather dash. Maybe some on the doors too.
