03Indigo.. the rear side panels pillars and headliner looks great black and blue!

what you doing about the carpet? i want to change mine to black, its that grayish color of the stock interior and i hate it. im thinking of just getting black aftermarket carpet, and adhering it to the factory carpet? i know people who have done that before and always turns out looking factory.

I took the headrests off the rear seats and am using them in the front seats. The previous owner actually had it like this but I like it, so I kept it that way...

I'll take pics tomorrow at the same time I snap pics of the downtubes.

Those of you who have gone to upholstery shops, how much do you think it would cost to have them stitch a diamond pattern on some Alcantara (provided by me). Prolly head to one this weekend but I want to have an idea so I know if the place is ripping me off or not. TIA

Great solution with the carpet Jon. I wish black or blue carpet was readily available and at a descent cost. That is the only thing keeping your car from being a complete transformation.
I got lucky and grabbed an extremely nice blue carpet from a guy on ebay who was having his Mini converted to match his red 360 Challenge Stradale...lucky me...
When is that magazine coming out, and which one?

Anyone have this happen to their headliner? This is the reason I'm wanting to do the suede/Alcantara headliner...

The downtubes look great. I can't wait until the summer to redo my interior in micro suede. The back head rests in the front seats kind of look like the front ones upside down. It's definitely an interesting look.

That's a cool look! Do you find that it messes with your comfort in any way?

I'm assuming that you put the front ones into the back.

otherwise, you might have to rip out the old one and put the new one over it, but be careful about ripping it out, if it does not come off easily, you will see imperfections when you lay the new one over it. I would actually re-glue the pealing sections of the OEM one, then place the new one over it, with overlap folds onto the back side to hold it securely in place...and contact cement those down...like an envelope fold around the entire piece....
I'm no longer under warranty unfortunately. I thought about using contact cement on the drooping section but I noticed that the cloth is beginning to unglue itself in several sections of the headliner. That front section is the only really bad one, but I would have no way of gluing the parts in the middle. I'm going to have to take it off, take all the foam off, lay a new foam pad down and lay the suede on top of that...

Nope it doesn't mess with comfort in any way. The back seats don't have head rests as the front ones would leave you with little to no rear visibility. I don't find the headrests any less comfortable than the front ones, not that I use it much anyways.

anyway...

leather door pull in place, test fit of newly painted hoop pieces. Now I just need to cover the panel in leather and suede. I like how the arm piece came out, so I am leaving it, love the carbon/leather look and the darkness of it. Blue suede will be behind it, and black leather and suede around the outside of the hoop.
Thats looks AWESOME!

Here's a question - How do you remove all those trim pieces. I.E. - The Door Pull and surrounding ring (or whatever you wish to call them.) I've looked at the back but there doesn't seem to really be clips like the rest of the MINI.

Thanks in advance.

(P.S. - I hope you didn't post this answer already! HaHa AGAIN...)

Yea I see... Man you weren't kidding about it being a pain. HaHa... Hmmm MINI didn't want us touching the doors it seems... "Those who wish to change the MINI interior shall endure pain." Thanks though!

The alcantara/alcantara version looks the best IMHO.

The stitching makes them look very clean. Great work. And +1 for the all alcantara version.

I think I am torn between the two designs...I love the Alcantara Alcantara version...but there is something a little less "pimp" about the Alcantara Leather version that I like...I think I am swaying towards the A/L version...both are amazing...

+1 for the L/A version, I find that it mixed better with the rest. The A/A is nice as well but too much I think.

How does the color of the leather match against the seats? Also, what's the cost? You're making me want to wrap my dash in leather.
