Here's a 4300k OEM phillips bulb vs 8000k. If you look at my signature, they look purple, but they are really just 4300k bulbs (stock) w/ a slight color mod. Look at the fence to the left, and you can see some of the color band.

They are both xenon. The left is from a projector, and the right is a reflector, so its a little unfair, but you can still see the difference. The 8000k is slightly higher depending on what brand you buy. Its usually less than 2400 lumens.

They look brighter, but its an optical illusion. When you take photos to compare, make sure you use the same camera exposure settings, and put the white balance on manual (daylight) so the camera doesn't adjust.

The best thing to do would be to back you car 25 feet from a wall, and shoot both 8000k, both 4300k, then the left 4300k vs right 8000k. Use daylight WB and same exposure for all pics. Also, make the distance from the wall the same too, because if you're closer, it will look brighter.

Im interested to see how different the output really is. Everyone swears by 4300k-5000k. Anything higher just looses lumens. Try the color mod, it looks SICK!!

I'll keep you posted...
I'm going to re-align the beams hopefully tonight.
Then I'll work on the color test.
So all I want to do is remove the bulb and slightly bend the metal cut off towards me.
Will see what happens..
thanks for all the info...

Just bend a little at a time, and if you bend too far, you can just bend it back. If you go too far, the cutoff gets fuzzy.
