Who has the factory "upgraded" Roof Spoiler?

I don't know what to call it, so all I can think of is that it is an "upgrade" from the standard Cooper S roof spoiler. FYI It is the one in the MINI accessory catalog without the center support. In the catalog, they just called it "roof spoiler". Please post pics if you got one, I'm interested in getting one.

This is the standard MCS roof spoiler. As you can see, it has less of a rise and has a center support.

It looks a looks bit higher than the stock, and it don't have that center support so it has a cleaner look.

I wonder if this one would help kick some air down the back to keep it cleaner?

Probably funnel more gunk to make it dirtier! I wonder if MCS's with spoilers get dirtier then justacoopers.

I don't think the junk is coming from the top, I think it's the air swirling up from the ground. You ever seen those "skirts" on the back of an RV? They help keep it cleaner but stopping the air from swirling up. Maybe the Mini needs a skirt.

Is this for the R56, or is it for the R53?

I have that spoiler on my MCS... It does not keep the back of the car clean... nothing will

I really like the spoiler. It's subtle, but still interesting.

I like your studded tires! Don't see those here in Arizona.

From the back, it goes with the RC car antenna. That's the handle you use to pick it up when you're done playing.

+1, I saw this spoiler on the accessories page as well, but much prefer the standard one. Plus it's free! To each their own...

I'd really love to see some pictures of the palo uber lip on an R56 as an upgrade over the stock spoiler.
The stock wing does need a little something more, but I haven't heard many good reviews of PU.

good pictures of the optional wing, last time I checked it was a regular cooper option, good to know it'll fit the MCS as well.

Wow...it looks so small on your car. I think it would look better if they made it wider.

I think the only way to keep the back of the car clean would be to get a spoiler that angles the opposite of a conventional spoiler. Directing air downwards instead of deflecting it upwards. Think of the first (S10) generation Chevy Blazers.

If the stock spoiler had some kind of aftermarket attachment that directed air down instead of backwards, it might help with the dirt that's always over the back of the car. A palo uber lip that attached on the back side and had more surface to direct air down. It might work. Might not look to good, but it would work as well as say that Chevy one.

Another question for any who has installed this: how much did it cost, or can I bolt it on myself? Is the center support on the OEM MCS spoiler going to leave a hole in my roof? $300 for this one if I could just bolt it on would be worth it, but not getting the roof repainted and all that.

Thanks!

I believe it's all one-piece, including a section of what looks like your roof. It is just a bolt on. Looking at the JCW wing install, looks pretty simple.

Take off old wing, bolt on new one, apply the strip of cover (no idea what that long black piece is called), done.

Maybe I'll have to look closer at Lewis' rear. I suppose I could just call a dealer and ask, too, just thought I'd see if I could do it the easy way.

Mine was installed on the car before I bought it, so I have no idea what the installation is like.
