First off I want to say thank you to all the pioneers who have posted on this thread - without your awesome directions I would not have been able to complete this.
For anyone doing the halogens just follow anderezd amazing how-to.
Ok I figured today was a good day to put up or shut up since I've been talking about doing this for almost a year. Wasn't hard at all - toughest part was cleaning the reflectors after pulling the tape up - I kept seeing streaks depending on which side I viewed the reflector from - I had a little black spray paint on the reflector but it came off with a little windex and elbow grease.
anyway here a few shots - not easy to photograph but it's as good as it's going to get. Now that it's dark out I can go outside and see how many smudges I really have

I would also I like to sya thank you to everyone who has put up advice on doing this mod. It's one of the best mods I have done so far. And anderezd has an amazing how-to on this mod that came in very handy. Last night driving I noticed there is a decrease in light output so today I went to Pepboys and gt a set of Silverstar lights. 40 bucks and the light out put says it's more than factory. I won't know till later on tonight when it's dark out and I can actually see the differance. I added some pictures below and yes this is a tough thing to take a good picture of.

What a great cheap mod! I did mine a little different as far as directions go. I used a scotch brite pad to take all the chrome off even the projector housing it botls to . Also the turn indicator housing was stripped. I did the proper prep then laid down a couple coats of KRYLON FUSION satin black. It came out great. If you are still on the fence like I was jump! Its worth it.
Sorry for the dark Pic I just finished. I will snap a few during the day when I get back from the Mid-Ohio race this weekend.

Ok so im a bit stuck....
I want to know if it is possible to use a heat gun and take the lens off the housing. Without taking it off the car? I got the xenon headlights. Is it possible?
Also my car came with the power wash for the lights and I cant figure how to even use them? Can anyone help me on the part -_- =]

But i think I read somewhere that i had to remover the power wash cap and in order to do that you have to take the whole housing off?

OK guys. Question time.
I know someone who has done the joey mod to his R56 and he has offered to do mine for me too.
However, I do not want to suffer from the dreaded paint bubble issue. Would it be worth getting him to split the lights for me and then getting the projector ring / light internals sent away to be professionally sprayed in and laquered in a matt black to the same standard as a cars paint work?
Or, is their a heat resistant paint which I can buy off the shelf and then provide him with for the DIY route?
Many thanks!
