I'm looking to buy the Aero kit for my '06 MCS. About what can expect to pay to have the kit painted? I'd like hear from those of you that have the kit painted by a MINI dealer and a private body shop? Any problems/concerns I should be sure to ask for when getting it finished?

price varies by shop but i would expect no more than $500 for the 4pcs.

i highly recommend you get the front bumper clear bra'ed before it gets
chipped. www.autopaintguard.com has them.

 

you can buy it prepainted from mini. 1700 was the price tag i believe...

 

I don't know if they can still be found but I got my factory painted kit from Classic Mini for $1000.00 back in November.

 

You can buy them prepainted anymore, unless they have some colors still lying around.

I just got an estimate for $671. Well, not a estimate anymore... it's at the shop being painted.

edit: answers to your other quesitons; private shop, only thing they are not sure of is painting the textured trim. I'm sure they are going to figure it out, though, because they are going to keep doing it till it's right.

 

i paid 320 just to have the front bumper done. Its an amazing job tho. That said, i was being impatiant, and was actually having some one else paint it. I just spent a couple hours preping the rest of my kit for painting. Hopefully monday i can go get the paint (colour anyway, the black i can wait a bit on if required). I would say 500 at a private shop should get you covered. At the dealer, probably 800-1000.
