Rear Europlate Mounting?

I was wondering if anyone knows how rear plates are mounted on euro r56's. I know our US plate bracket screws into two holes on our hatch. I'm not sure if the euro hatches even have the same holes.

Does anyone know where we could source an oem rear plate bracket that uses our existing mounting location?

Thanks.

Most of the euro-plate brackets you find will have a ton of options for mounting which include holes that would work for the screw holes we have.

You can get them at any place that sells euro plates....they've even got some on ebay.

Thanks Rally. I've got one of those universal brackets and it looks so bulky.

Is that how your have your plate mounted? I'm trying to pull off that same effect that you have in this picture.

With my NA plate covering it.

Thats what I'm going to do then. There's that little indentation back there.

Double sided tape? Did it fit in snug?

Fit pretty snug. I do know a few people who put some tape in there too though.

Yeah, installing the bracket to the car is easy, but how do you hold the plate to the bracket?

Most of them have one side that opens up like it is hinged, then you just slide the plate in and close the hinged piece back up and it snaps into place. Hopefully that made sense.

Hmm, sorry i couldn't be of more help. The only other type I have seen is the one that is on our Trailblazer. It is two pieces, a backing plate that you screw to the bumper, than you set the plate in that frame and snap the front over that.

yup....no reason why it would be illegal. The state plate is in clear view and not obstructed.

I actually had a cop pull over one of my buddy's in a MINI and told him that he had to mount his plate like mine to be legal
