For those that fitted the M7 splitter.......

How long did it take you to do it?

I got mine this week and plan on fitting it in a morning, although I'm pessimistic about doing it in just a few hours.

Pull the front bumper off the car. This takes me about 5-10 min. Then it should take no more then an 1-1 1/2hr. I did it in about 45min.

I bought my splitter used and so I'm not sure if a new opne comes with longer screws for the connection at the rear of the splitter, 5 screws in total I think, but I had to go to OSH to get longer stainless screws and stainless fender washers to make it possible to screw the rear of the splitter down.

I used #12 by 1.5" stainless screws and they worked great.

Installed one last night - w/ my trusty sidekick (my son) it took us 2 hours and 10 minutes. 15 minutes spent finding the right tools, you'd have to see my garage to appreciate - .

When I finally got round to fitting it, it took me about 1.5-2hrs to fit. Hardest thing I found was trying to line up the splitter with the almost-jelly-like OEM bumper.

Here's how it looks though

looks real good.

Having a helper made lining things up much easier.

Took me about 1.5 hours. Used spring clamps to hold everything together while drilling. Really helped!

Also used longer screws at each end with a spacer made from rubber fuel hose. This keeps each end of the splitter "flat" instead of curving up at the ends.

Good Luck!

Jim
