Hood insulation

Anybody running without the hood insulation...Do you think heat trasfer to bare hood could create problems with paint? I did this on my mustang without any problems at all, just wondered if anybody has tried this. The previous owner cut the hood blanket to fit the shock tower bar and didnt do a real good job...I would just rather take it off to make it look cleaner.

Thanks

I removed everything and had no issue.

Mine is off, but i have a carbon fiber hood, which may transfer heat differently than steel.

Are you talking about the heat resistant fabric under the hood that insulated the engine noise and acts as a blanket in the event the engine catches fire? If so I don't have one on my '09 MC. Did any 2009 MC get one. Please let me know. Aside missing the engine emblem, now no hood insulation.

it sounds like only the cooper S' have the insulation because they have a turbo, making the engine much hotter than a regular cooper
