Interior/Exterior Help me change my interior to red!

Hey nfo,
I know what you mean, let's do some research on how to get everything disassembled the right way. I might pass by MINI of SF tomorrow to ask how. It might be later on in the week, but I think it would be great since you're trying to get your car to have the darker look (tinted tails, etc.) What's the condition of your interior pieces?
If we try to take the airbag panel off, will the airbag go off?
Someone help us

From what I was told by a MINI Parts Counter Dude, the Airbag Door and removing it will not trigger the bag.
But this was just a Parts Counter Dude.
I'm considering removing my interior plastic and doing something with it also.
I was thinking black, gloss black, or flat black, or black chrome. Or I was thinking the other direction with Chrome or even fabric.

I paint cars for Aero Colours. We are not a body shop but we repair bumpers and paint interiors. A DIY project is certainly a good idea pricewise. And putting on a clear afterward is a must. It will give you depth and clearity. It would also allow you to accedentaly scuff it and not scratch the color off.
I don't know exactly how much Aero Colours would charge you but, they are a great alturnative, and would charge only about 20% of a body shop price.

>>If you're goin' for the red interior look, why not go all out and get the Tartan Red interior?.......
Thanks Kohu'ulaMINI,
I think I'm going to go for the Red tartan seat covers since that would be the cheapest way. I would want to get the doors to red, but I think I'm goint to paint the door handles red.
Does anyone know how to SAFELY take out the airbag panel?

I have the Mini catalog in my hand and read through the Seat Cover description which says:
"Stretch resistant and precision-tailored for perfect fitment, these custom seat covers are the only models on the market that accommodate MINI's seat-mounted airbags"
So, it sounds like you won't have to do anything with the airbag. Once you get them installed, please take a picture, I'd love to see them in your car.
