Are the MCs/Mc having armrests on the 04 models...AND if not which ones are the best.....
From everyone's experience with the different models out there which one is everyone pleased with and brand name recommended..
Cheers...
Also which rims on a PW/B do you think will look really COOL...Looking for some classy lightweight 17" wheels...

I don't believe they will be a factory option...but I believe all the dealers will be selling MINI FINI products which does include an armrest.

Thanks Bridger. Will look for your great product review with pictures and comments from your viewers.
Maybe you can comment on easy of installation, any problems, fit and finish, and color match to MINI interior plastics or fabrics. Great site you have!

More info from MINI FINI:

Cuplink, as it's called, will be at dealers in mid August.

Armrest will be at dealers in early fall, whatever that means.

This is directly from the ExecDir of Marketing and Sales for MINI FINI.

The Cuplink system is being boxed and shipped to BMW right now. BMW will then send the products to the dealers.

The armrest will then follow, presumably in late Sept/early Oct.

Go to Minimania.com:
The simple rectangular design has a cargo box bottom (plastic) w/ a thick 2/.5"padded top that slides (front to rear.) It works very well & looks OE. It is attached by screws via the rear cup holder and rest on the tranny housing (front) by passive means ("buttressed," not screwed or taped.) The unit does not ostruct the front or cup holdesr.) Comes in all black, all gray, & to mixed combos (gray over black, black over gray) At $140 it's not cheap and it does not look it!

Amen to that, the Mania/ Wood Company arm rest is an eyesore. It looks like someone took a Hummer aftermarket product and threw it in a MINI. The storage area is fairly useless to top it off. I would look into the TVA arm rest that is an stubby oval shape with two wings that connect to the e-brake deal. The Mini-fini looks real nice, can't wait to see it.

I like the look of the MINI-FINI arm rest. It doesn't have storage but I think it may be for me.

I can't get a photo of it but here's the description :

The Standard Armrest Specs * Black only. Surface is a soft, leather-like urethane and fully padded. Approximately 10" high, 16" long, and 4.5" wide. The armrest provides extremely strong support because of its steel base. The Standard can be lifted or lowered. Installation using existing bolts can be done at any authorized MINI or BMW dealer.

Gabe,
Thanks in advance for your report on Bridger after you get your hands on one!

After a couple hours of spirited driving yesterday, my co-pilot asked me to get an armrest for her. The MINI-Fini one looks perfect. Last week, I was able to see a picture on their website, but now I can't find it. Anyone know?

Has anyone spotted an armrest with cloth instead of leather/vinyl? I've got the space cloth interior and think leather would look very out of place.

A matter of personal taste. I bought one from MiniMania (is it the Wood Company manufacture?) and it has Italian leather and a storage compartment. It slides forward to support ones elbow, leaving the storage box open for little knickknacks.

One improvement I would have liked to see: the armrest should be 1" to 1 1/2" higher. The German arm rest you mentioned will cost close to $200 with no storage capability, which is sorely lacking in the MINI, unless you buy the European parcel shelf. The MiniMania armrest lists at $159 and I got it at a 15% discount at their last open house.

I'm happy with it. To each his own.

If you are looking for an elbow rest for the drivers left side, check on e bay and type in Mini Road Rest. After purchasing one for my Mini, I was so impressed that I became a dealer for them.
They form fit right over the exsisting hard elbow rest perfectly. Take a look.
Good Luck

Keep your eyes peeled as we will be having a special 1 day promotion on this forum for our arm rests - we will have an incredible price on the Wood Cpmany arm rest for one day only - as some of you may or may not recall, we did this for the introduction of the Blitzsafe units and a few other items. Again, you will only see it here on MCO and only with RSpeed.

Ahhhhh..... never thought of that. But maybe that would keep them service bas**** from changing my seat position
