Does anybody have a picture of someone IN the car with the parcel shelf, so we can see proportions? I think that woudl help a lot of us out.

Yea, me either... Mine sits on the small carpet area under the emer-brake handle between the mirror adjustment switch and the brake handle... That shelf might be even better. When you Accelerate does anything ever fall out of it?

I keep my Archos mp3 player, cell phone and my FRS radio on the shelf, None of these have flown off the shelf yet during sudden hard acceleration. Credit there goes to the rubber mat that sits in the shelf floor. It has a non-slip surface, along with a subtle wave profile which prevents items from sliding sideways during cornering.

I love my shelf!

Thank you so much for this URL!

From everyone's great reports, I know I will have to add it to my "Must Have Upon Arrival" list. I usually keep Rx Driving sunglasses in a case in my car, my Starbucks card and my ID to get in the security at work
so that Euro shelf would be perfect!

I know that my brother will love to have to "help" me install it.
He likes cars and is excited I'm getting a MCS.

BTW - all the photos that I post are from other people's gallerys!
I just use the search and name what I'm looking for!

OK - say you are proud of me for using the Search!!!

Well, yes. If you put a stack of CDs down there and accelerate moderately, they'll slide toward you and fall (this happens to me at least once a week ). You can actually fit a spindle of 50 CDs on the left side, but even that will fall if you really launch. Smaller, flatter stuff like phones and wallets tend to stay put.

And Pebbles, I'm proud of you for using the search!

My guess is that the pass reflects on the windsheild. I personally do not put stuff on the dash for that reason, as it is a distraction I'd rather live without.

Coming to rest, and then placing it on the dash is an easy enough task, and I don't have to see any reflections.

I have the rubber mat, and it keeps everything in place real well. My EZ pass didnt even move when we were driving like madmen at that meet.

The instructions linked in an earlier post have the part #s. If they won't order the parts over the phone I would complain to Miniusa (and my mother). I would then order from the aftermarket dealer mentioned in an earlier post.

That URL doesn't go to a web site to order the shelf. It's just a MINI parts Dept guy saying he can get them. The URL goes to another MCO thread, not to a place to order.

So what you are really saying is there is no place other than a MINI dealer that you can buy them from ???

Ants, you've seen my license plate mount ezpass? I screwed it to the front black grill since I don't have a plate. Only problem is every one asks me if my radar/lazer jamming thingie works. But, no white box on the window.

Yes, that's a dealer parts department. It's where I got mine from. Since the shelf comes directly from MINI (it's a factory part) there is no 'aftermarket' source. Classic does offer a better price than I could get from my local dealer, and that's with shipping included. The guy is very helpful, and has done a lot of the 'legwork' in putting together an actual 'kit' for the shelf. The shelf is actually about 7 separate parts you would have to order individually at your local dealer. Just call Classic and say you want a shelf and it comes shipped to you complete with everything needed to install it. It's a 10 minute job.

I have a growing list of goodies I am going to be calling Classic for in the near future!

Call that phone number, and you can order the parcel shelf for $71. It is money very, very well spent.

I got mine in March from Classic Mini and I love it. Easy to install but you need the correct Torx as someone else mentioned. More leg room. Can't believe this concept isn't available on all vehicles ..

I passed on the mat, felt it was too pricey. I bought some of that thick black perforated rubber shelf liner- comes in rolls. I cut it to fit and stuck it down w/ some velcro. Even put some in the door cubbies and cup holders to keep things guiet.

Yes...yes...yes. Easy to install. If you have any question, chef and I will install it for you. Also do the AUX Port at the same time. Order from Classic Mini > all the stuff you need plus the Aux Port cost $102.

See you at Starbucks soon...

Here..here...

Yes you want this!
Yes, it's easy!
Yes, you should include the aux port!
Yes, you can borrow my torx screwdriver!
Yes, you should order it from Classic!
Yes, I will help you install it!

IMHO the GBO and the shelf are the 2 "must have" interior additions...

AUX port goes without saying, right?

I have wondered for a long time what you guys have been on about 'Euro Shelf'. I have always had one of these. Only since my sister bought her MC last month I understand!!

I could live with out one. It is a must. With the other style it seems to degrade the whole look of the interior.
