Does anyone have pictures of a MINI (cooper or S) with the aero kit on the car with the normal grill inserts??? I am wondering how it will look with the chrome instead of the black insert. Also does anyone have pictures of the aero kit on the dark silver S? How much are people paying for the aero kits, and can you get them factory installed or does it have to be a dealer installed option?

One last question that is S related, but has nothing to do with the aero kit... I have seen pictures in the brocures with the S having body colored slats in the grill, and in the "newer" brochures I have seen them crhome. What is the official way to get them chrome versus painted? I haven't seen it listed anywhere as an option, so is it just changing on a certain year, or is it an option....

Sorry for all the dumb questions!

Thanks,
Ben

You could go to the miniusa site and build one. When you add the aero kit, a pic pops up of the car with the aero kit installed, viewed from the front quarter. It's a $1200 option, but my "client advisor" told me $2500 installed. They are dealer-installed.

Yeah, but the picture is of the Blue and white striper cooper, not a gray S. I've been staring at all the pictures I can find of the kit, but none are on a gray S.... I love the side skirts, don't like the rear (too similar to the S's normal rear to bother) and I am questioning the front.... I just need to see one....

Call Classic Mini in Mentor, OH. Talk to Brian in Parts (They're a MCO Sponsor, click on their ad in the Sponsor Directory.)

They sell the Aero Kit for 20% off retail which comes to $960. plus shipping (get a quote from FedEx Ground) because the two boxes for the front & rear valances are oversize (24 x 32 x 69 inches each) Depending on shipping, you'll save, plus there's no sales tax.......(get a pickup and drive....how far is Newport from Cleveland?)

I'd find a local quality bodyshop to install the kit. Dealers are charging uo to $2,500 for painting & installation. A good shop should be around $ 1,000 to $1,500 max.

Thanks for the input.... My dealer is charging 2900 with the kit, paint and install... way too much... that is how I would do it, but fed ex is way cheaper than driving... cleveland is about 800 miles I think so 1600 * .10 (gas) = $160 and hotels so it would ship for about the same.... Although driving the MINI out and putting them on unpainted would work. The old parts would fit in the car for sure.... you might have to fold the front seat forward which would make it harder, but maybe not.... anyway, I need to see the picture of it on a dark silver car first...

I drove out to Cleveland last Friday to pick up an aero kit from classic mini. I drove a 1990 olds custom cruser out there. all boxes fit nice in the back with the seats folded down and it only took me one tank of gas to get out there and back so it only cost me about 25 bucks to pick them up from Detroit. It’s nice to have a great place so close. Everything else I got from them was shipped easy. 960 is a great price and I’ll be doing the install and paint myself so I am going to save a ton, but even if I had to have them painted, the install will be easy. Any one seen a photo of the side skirts with the door open??
