The Tenzos are on my car. I'm not really interested in selling them right now the boxes have my stock s-lites... well one of the boxes has a different MINI wheel but I am selling a 1998 Mitsubishi eclipse GSX which that body kit is for (for those of you who aren't familiar w/ the dsm cars, this is the AWD turbo model)

We did plasti-cote on everything except the beltline. We used vinyl on it.

If i use plasti-dip, do i have to sand down the gas cap, or does this stuff just spray over untouched chrome?

Give everything a rub down with isopropyl alcohol (90% is what I use) and shoot No need for sanding. That way, if you don't like it, just peel it off and it looks like you never did anything at all

thats awesome, since i was a little hesitant to sanding a piece down.

is it ok to use on handles? does it eventually wear down or am i good to do handles too? not sure if i read about people doing door handles.

Skillet is dead on. Just wipe it down with alcohol and spray away. Watch for little "dimples in the wet paint when you are spraying. Go thick enough to make these go away but not so thick it runs. I sprayed my door handles while they were still on the car. There was a tip somewhere about sticking business cards between the handle and the door. Works fantastic. Mask off more than you think, I go a little overspray that I had to clean up. It is holding up well on one door, the other one is wearing a bit on the back side but I just touch it up with a paint brush. Looks good again.

Sounds like shotgunner is in the same boat with me My door handles are holding up "ok". I have the medial edges starting to peel up from where I didn't shoot down in the door handle far enough, but other than that, they're holding up great. I did extremely very light coats and have a sandpaper-ish feel to everything. Thats the way I like it. Gives it even more of a flat finish.

Another tip, should you make a mistake, use the alcohol to wipe it off. I had to do that once, and the alcohol took it off like it was nothing

I am doing 5 or 6 pieces over Thanksgiving weekend when I go home and plan on doing a plasti-dip write up for those pieces with pictures and such.

I did the plasti-dip tonight- excellent results.

If you need to redo, my recommendation would be to wait till it dries. It peels right off after its dried like liquid rubber- if not, its all over your hands like undried paint.

Thanks for the advice everyone! Wheels are coming soon- then the black out will be complete!

Your car looks great, I'd love to see some out door shots ! I've blacked out the same pieces (and a few more) on my R53. In your pictures, your full PW roof really set's off the blacked out pieces !

I would jump on a Alpine white R53 in a heart beat. White on black is so sexy.

I love that this stuff peels off. I have wanted to do my tach, spedo and shift boot rings in red. The only thing stopping me was that eventually I will get tired of the red stripes and I didn't want to have to buy replacements when my interior no longer matched the exterior. I am headed to Lowes after work to buy me some Plastidip!!!

Now I just need to figure out how to pop off the rings for painting.

After several weeks of having the plasti-dip on the door handles I must say "poo poo." With so much touching from the driver's side it has begun to peal up and you have to be super delicate with it. Rather have vinyl wrapped everything. In fact now that I saw how it all looked good after being black I have ordered replacements for it all. So I guess it did its purpose but I'll rest easy when I know my new parts will last a hell of a lot longer...
