Joey mod - dark silver or black?

I'm trying to decide which color to go with for the Joey Mod on my car... Dark Silver or Black.

Let me know what you think would look good. Here are some pics of my car ...

Thanks for looking.

Touch decision as that is a nice lookin MINI. I would go with the all black, but it might be sweet if you have it matching your dark silver. Good luck either way, be sure to post pics once you get it done!

I was leaning towards DS, it's hard to tell if the black will be too much. Thanks for your post.

That's funny you say that, as I was just checking out the "DIY splitter" thread yesterday.

I say DS. It would blend the headlight housings with the rest of the car and keep the existing black as contrast. I chose a combination of black and body color for mine, but that's easier to accomplish with the 05+ xenons.

That's what I was thinking, but I may go back to the stock DS scoop when the IC goes down in front.
Thanks for the post.

Wow, there are a lot of differences in those two pics. The after shot looks incredible! Nice job! EB has always been one of my favorite colors.

I'll be different and say "black" if you're keeping the stripes and other black accents. The joey mod would tie in well.

However, if you're going to go with the clean look of the 2 MINIs posted above, then DS.

I don't know what a Joey Mod is, but from the look of these pics I want my Headlight to look like that. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2255/...3fa5bdf9ea.jpghttp://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z...g?t=1212942677

I would say that with the S Bumper that you have now, I would go with the DS. If you plan on getting an Aero Bumper, I would suggest the Black.

I'm voting DS but about 2 shades darker than the stock DS.

Well, Joaquin, if you're looking for any more votes, mine's for the DS. And if you do it, I just might get enough gumption to do it myself. It's about the only thing left for me to do...

cheers, and good luck!

That's the thing, I may not keep the stripes and will eventually go back to the DS scoop. Thanks for the post.

That's an interesting take, depending on the bumper cover. Thanks.

Why not the stock DS?
2 shades darker would be almost black. Thanks.

Thanks Phil.
What I really want to do is to make a set of Joey modded, facelift xenons with no washers. But in the meantime, i'll do the my stock ones. I can't stand the chrome in there.

Yep. Not DS & not quite black. You wouldn't get that "I just painted it body color" look & it wouldn't be black like everyone else's. You know… a little different.

Gotcha, that sounds pretty cool. I'll have to look into that. Thanks.

Nice MINI! The Joey mod looks great, thanks for posting. I gotta do mine soon, I hate the chrome in there.

How about Dark Silver without the metallic? I think that would look pretty cool.

i like that, to add to that how about a flat dull finish.

or mayb a brushed finish, but it would still be silver!? i guess u could do brushed in DS too.

I was thinking flat, possibly satin, but nothing too shiny. Thanks for posting, man. You should check in more often.

That looks great! Thanks for posting the pic. Flat DS is looking pretty good in there.
