Howdy,

Sucks not living near a dealer. Has anyone out there sat in both, and could you give me your impressions of the difference?

I did sit in someone's Sparco at the Connecticut run, and I didn't want to get out. I love the fit like a glove feel.

I just can't tell the difference between the two, other than the fabric (and I like the cloth better than faux, or even real, suede.) And the black and gray seem to compliment the existing interior of DUCTTAPE.

TIA
David

The Torino in black and gray

I have the Torino's. I've sat in Milano's before, but for the extra cost that they are, the Torino is just fine. If you wanted the lumbar or slightly more bottom width, then Milano's are good.

Yes, I saw that pic and I think it is tres sharp.

Question, "slightly more bottom width" as in, a wide tush, or as in hugs more than the Torino.

Thanks!

Milano has a little more room on bottom - thighs, tush. I've been fence sitting forever on this - the whole heated seat / airbag issue is kind of keeping me from moving ahead.

FYI - MINI will be releasing the JCW seats (rebadged Milano's I believe) that while not having airbags, will have a circuit to finish the loop. Heated seats will be an option available.

I emailed JCW and asked specifically about the airbag biz. The answer was the JCW seats DO have the integrated airbag with the necessary wiring, etc.

I asked my dealership's parts dept today and they said they won't be carrying them but will special order. Anyone seen actual (vice estimated/projected) pricing?

Sorry, didn't mean to try to hijack your thread.

I like the Milanos....and a few others as well, but I'm still hung up on retaining the original safety features so I guess I'll bide my time for a while longer.

kurvhugr - that's HUGE (airbag wise) news...although expensive, I'm sure.

David- would you do the install yourself?

Hi

(I don't mind the 'hijack'. All the same subject to me.)

I don't know that the airbag, for me, is a biggie. Seems the safety feature is getting out of a tioght spot, not bouncing around against a pillow if you don't succede.

Yes, I would install myself. I think it's bolt out the old, bolt in the new.

Someone mentioned the heater can be taken out of the stock seat. I would even try that, 'cause I LOVE those heated rumps.

Eric at Helix also mentioned a 4 ohm resistor will bypass the airbag light. Think I will try that to. If not, I'll have to go to the warehouse and mooch an inch or so of black duct tape
