thinking about doing the headlights just to see what it looks like, and how the light shines through at night...keep in mind im buying the Palo Uber light bar with 4 Hella 500 driving lights, im gonna mount them a little downward so i can use them any time without blinding oncoming traffic, so even if this does mess up the light output a little, maybe itll work out. although i dont know about things on the road hitting the headlights..we shall see though...

Careful, some places just turning on extra lights is a ticket.
I have read about aftermarket lights being aimed high and blinding other drivers so cops will ticket any light that is on and not part of the stock body.
FWIW.

Looks cool but I would be worried about its permanence and runs.
Now If you wanted to go hardcore about it you could "sandblast" the outside of the lens, and tint the inside. This would give you the nice flat black look while being very durable I would imagine
i wrapped the headlights..ill rock them for a while...see how it works out.. pretty much killed my night vision, only becuase i have 15% tint on my windshield, but im buying the Palo Uber light bar with 4 Hella 500 driving lights in the next couple days, so that will brighten things up
um, i dont drive my MINI on dusty/dirt roads...thats what trucks are for...
I wish... I moved to a place with a dirt road and just can't keep the Mini clean anymore. First stop after I leave home is the quick touchless carwash. Can't just stop diving the Mini!
this guy used plastic paint..i dont know how the light shines through paint that isnt transparent, but it does..look nice too. if my nylon fails, ill do this
I just did it to my tails. I used a smoke spray paint used for polycarbonate RC car bodies. Just built up coats until it was as dark as I wanted it. Light shines through just fine. No pics yet as I just did it and my lights aren't back together yet.
just thought id update this thread, original nylon is still on the headlights and tails, and all of it is perfect, no rips, no stains, no fading, and no tickets either.
just for those of you who thought it wouldnt work.
