"nylon'ed" my tail lights

cost me $5.

looks great IMO. im most likely going to double wrap them tomorow, i gotta go get more nylon. we'll see how it holds up in sunlight over time.

the drivers one isnt stretched as tight as the passenger one, so ill prally double wrap one, see how the light shines through, then just redo both, stretching it as tight as i possibly can. it took me literally all of about 4 minutes per light... i really like how this came out.

Looks awesome but, dude, you should cut down on the Red Bull before you start taking pics. Anyway, it looks like there is enough light not to **** off any cops. Where did you get the nylon from?

I think you have the right idea, but your car is too shiny of black to have dull tails like that. Spend the cash and tint them.

Dude what happens if you get a run in your taillights/?! You need to keep some of those Leggs eggs in the glovebox.

You should get a new camera... the last few picks were so blurry it made me queazy trying to look at them.

You're kinda like the dude that sees the monkey nut on a plate in front of him and says; "Hmmmm, I'll try anything once!".

invest in a small tripod. or learn to sit very very still..turning the flash means the camera cant move or itll blur.

That was going to be my question, "how well will these hold up?". But it seems like the answer is "pretty well".

I like the innovation BUT you should be BANNED if you ever post pictures that you have taken. For our sake PLEASE have someone else do the photos! I cleaned my glasses twice thinking they were dirty.

I dub this that Panty Hose Mod .

Long term, I think tinting is a better way to go but the textured effect is interesting.

I'm on the fence... Who cares though- if you like it, that's all that matters. I like the look, just not the nylon.

I'm still curious. Why panty-hose fabric rather than spraying them with tint?

i was talkin with Alpha on here and he told me about some guy that did this on his tails and he had seen it in person and it looked really good. Glen also said it looked good in real life. so i figured id try. took me 5 minutes, and cost 5 bux.

if it doesnt hold up over time, ill tint them.

it deffinenlty was alot easier cheaper and faster than tinting them, then bothering with clear or wetsanding to get a nice finish, etc...the material isnt thin and cheap looking like pantyhose in real life if thats what you're thinking...lemme go get some pics...

Because the MINI's bum gets a lot of dust, I would think the fabric is going to get pretty dirty and will be difficult to clean. But then I guess all you would have to do is change your underwear.
