Hi All,

Have anybody upgrade their regular steering wheel to multifunctional steering wheel? Is possible to do it yourself and let the deal program it? I ready like to add the cruise control to my MINI. In addition, there is possbile kit to use the MFSW to control the iPod and Bluetooth hand free kit fot mobile phone. Could you share your experience and solution with me? Thank you.

The Multi-Function Steering Wheel can now be retrofitted I have discussed this issue several times with MINI Corporate because my idealer sales person made a mistake when she entered my original order, leaving off this option, I WAS PISSED!
When I received the car, July 2002 the MFS was not retrofittable, but now it is, unfortunately it costs $1,800 and no, you can't do it yourself, it requires too many specialized tools plus there is some software programming involved.

Thank you all for the reply. That is the only options that I was ready wish it included with the MINI I purchase. I could not wait to build the MINI I want because I need a car soon. Well... I guess I have to live without it.... :???:

I hope the future MINI's iPod kit and Bluetooth kit will work well without the MFSW.

I wonder if they will work at all without it.

This is what we all wonder. I'm in your same predictiment. I don't have the MFSW and miss my cruise too. Grrrr....$1800 is a lot of money just to answer my phone and take my foot off the gas.
