Nice IB/W MCS with Nav,chrome mirrors and white X-lyte wheels! Nicely done.
White wheels? No problem.
Swap out the brake shoes- two choices EBC and Mintex Red
EBC green for about $80 front or back pairs (prices vary)
Note: Fits both Mini Cooper and Cooper S manufactured ***before March of 2003.**** There is apparently a wear sensor on the newer models and the current design does not accomodate the change.***

http://www.helix13.com/html/products/brakes.htm
For Mintex Red (street pads) from Helix13
HMS 3012 Mintex Redbox Front Brake Pads $40.00
HMS 3013 Mintex Redbox Rear Brake Pads $37.00
(pretty good street braking, low price, replaces stock pads, low brake dust)
Coat the wheels with wheelwax to repell brake dust (about $15 plus $5 shipping)
http://www.wheelwax.net/faq.html
As needed spray with simple green cleanser and rinse. Squeaky clean!
Now have fun motorin with your son.
My son is 12 and he wants to drive my IB MCS not just ride in it.

I live in a community north of Fort Worth. Houses in my neighborhood are ~350k...
Homes and land are pretty cheap here comparatively.

My car build was in July so I guess those pads would not work. Will look into the wax and spray... Thanks!
