+1 I was going to get a set a while ago but couldn't afford coilovers at the time so I decided not to get them. Going a different route now...

Pureworks, I'm not a fan of the blacked out headlight rings on most MINIs (it rarely works well), I think it'd look TONS better painted Pepper White with a grey Joey mod to set it off a bit.

So, has anyone run the factory grill slats on the aerokit bumper?
You could also probably put those LED stripes on the bottom lip of the hood so it sits between the hood and bumper. Should fit between there right? That way you can push them out farther towards the edge of the car to help differentiate left and right signals and you can keep the aero grill look. I think deleting the round signals, the middle grill and putting an aero grill in the hood would look killer!!

I personally want the grill slats. I never use my highbeams, so, another option would be to wire the highbeams as the turn indicators (just be sure to aim them down).

I've always been partial to the Hamann front grill.
I like that it has smaller mesh inserts instead of being completely mesh.

I think I'm gonna have to follow suit there one of these days. I'd like to have the normal grille surrounds though. Any idea if that's possible?

anything is possible....the curve will be where all of the hard work will come in. For the grill frame, I would suggest just cutting the original grill out and attaching the new grill from behind......it's easy in flat placements.....

how about this for more money than brains, a bit of a photoshop of my own car to make the front grill look like an audi (note, the "bump" of the bumper is gone :P)

I don't know if it's possible to get rid of the bump in real life without losing the functional bumper below, but I'd love to see a show car with a flat nose.

i have a BRG/B MCS and am having the hardest time figuring out what grill combo i want. it's the color that makes it so hard i think. definitely don't want aeros any more. all black stock '03 grill is an option, or i also have a spare '05 smooth grill that i will probably use in any project this spring. this is my idea that i have yet to see on these pages or maybe i've just missed it; stock '05 surround in BRG with the center slats painted black. and M7 lowers front and rear. any opinions or pics? thanks in advance folks.

Yes I did it myself, However, Peter from M7 was kind enough to supply the mesh to match his Ultimate Grilles used in the front of the car. Once the bumper is removed from the car just work on a flat surface not to twist it. Be sure when cutting that you leave at least a 3mm ridge around the opening that little detail makes it.... then I bonded the already powder coated grilles and let cure. I turned out great. Go For It.....You Can Do It...

I like the exhaust exposed underneath, you had to trim the heat shield for that to happen, I have the ultimate grills from M7 although I never went as far as to cut and expose the exhaust, may be in store for a summer project.

Nice Job!

I had the dealer's body shop modify my Aero Kit before my car arrived 3 years ago...

i would like to see closer pics of that. I want to do the same with shaving the lower upper aero grill. but i thought without turn signals it would look too bare. But i had the idea to put some LED strips, maybe in the lowest grill to act as turn signals.
